30 Days of Adventure
Our Fully guided 30-day adventure takes you to some of the most spectacular places Costa Rica has to offer! You’ll see incredibly beautiful scenery, unbelievable wildlife, all the while engaging in a multitude of exotic, tropical adventures. As always, included in the cost of our trips are our bilingual guides, hotels, transportation within Costa Rica, tours and entrance fees, and some meals. It does not include airfare, alcoholic beverages, shopping, airport tax or the optional gratuity for your primary guide.

day 1 - Arrival
- Today you’ll arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose where your friendly Green Frog Adventures Guide will be waiting to transport you to your first exotic destination. From the Airport we’ll take the short drive up into the mountains overlooking San Jose to our lovely Hotel for the evening. Get a good night’s sleep because tomorrow we start the Adventure!
day 2 - Rafting the Pacuare River
- Wake early for a three-day white water rafting adventure on the Rio Pacuare. We will travel to Tres Equis where we descend through dense jungle into the heart of the Rio Pacuare gorge. This is a special river running through some of the last remaining virgin rain forest in Central America. National Geographic called the Pacuare one of the top three commercial rafting runs in the world. Between the class III + IV rapids, enjoy side hikes to beautiful waterfalls and look for sloths, monkeys and toucans in the jungle around you. Half way down the river we’ll pull over at our amazing riverside lodge. Sip on a tropical drink or explore the surrounding wilderness while your guides prepare a delicious Kosher meal in the fully equipped open-air kitchen.
day 3 - Nature Hike to Waterfall
- Today, we’ll do a Guided Hike through the pristine Rain Forest surrounding the Camp to a beautiful Waterfall. En route, our Naturalist Guides will point out and explain all of the exotic Flora and Fauna you encounter. Once we reach the Waterfall, you can relax and swim in the warm Tropical waters as gaze in wonder at the amazing beauty all around you!
day 4 & 5 - Shabbat / 17 Tammuz Fast

day 6 & 7 - Swiftwater Rescue, Jungle Survival & Extraction Course
- The next two days will be among your most challenging and rewarding. Your Swiftwater course will include instruction on water Safety, Swimming in moving water, Throw-bag technique, Righting flipped Rafts, Basic CPR and a ton more. The Jungle Survival & Extraction Course teaches you first how to avoid dangerous situations, Basic First aid, and Extraction using on hand materials and some Basic Ropes techniques. After these two days, everyone in the group will be better prepared and ready for anything!
day 8 - Guided Nature Hike & Cabecar Indigenous Village
- Today, after a hearty breakfast prepared by your trusty guides, you’ll do a guided nature hike deep into the rainforest. Along the way, your guide will point out and explain all of the tropical flora and fauna you encounter. This is one of the most bio-diverse and pristine areas in the world and you’re sure to encounter more amazing wildlife than you ever thought possible! Our final destination is a small Cabecar Village. The Cabecar are the original indigenous inhabitants of the Pacuare Valley and they still live in much the same way as their pre-Columbian forefathers. Today will truly unforgettable.
day 9 - Canopy Tour & Nature Hike
- Next, I hope you’re not afraid of heights because after breakfast, it’s up into the trees for a thrilling canopy tour. We will head deep into the rainforest on the slopes of the Canyon to the start of the Tour and from there you’ll see amazing creatures that spend their entire lives in the canopy as you dangle hundreds of feet above the forest floor. But remember, what goes up must come down! We’ll zoom down at breakneck speeds using a series of zip lines!!That afternoon we schedule yet another amazing Hike to a nearby Waterfall!
day 10 - Botanical Research Course
- Today we’re bringing in a professional Botanist specializing in all of the exotic plants that call this unique ecosystem home. You’ll learn about time tested medicinal plants, highly dangerous and poisonous plants and even plants that hunt and devour the forests unsuspecting insects! Today in the River Pools off the Campís sandy beach we’ll do a stunning introduction to kayaking Costa Rican white water. In one of the many pristine pools your guide will teach you the basics of kayaking, including the various paddling strokes, bracing, and the all-important Eskimo Roll.

day 13 & 14 - Aid Project - Local School
- The next two day will be one of the more rewarding experience you’ll have in Costa Rica. Near the Pacuare Camp is a small Local School that services some of the students in the area. It is a very small school and often in need of even the most basic maintenance and repairs. The aid projects will be held over the next two days and will depend on the school’s needs at that time. The Camp students will be able to mingle and make friends with the local students and a series of events will be arranged to facilitate this. Also, we often encourage our clients to bring some small gifts of educational supplies and if this is something you are interested in, we’ll provide a wish-list from the teachers working at the school.
day 15 - Finish at Pacuare River & Transfer to Arenal Volcano Area
- Today we start with another delicious breakfast and then we’ll say good bye to the Pacuare Camp with another big day on the Pacuare is many Rapids. We’ll stop on of the many sandy beaches along the way for lunch and perhaps a River side siesta before setting off for the final stretch. Once we arrive at the take-out, we’ll make the short drive to La Fortuna the Arenal Volcano.
day 16 - Arenal National Park Hike
- Located on the slopes of the Volcano, Arenal National Park is home to some of the most unspoiled coastal rain forest in Central America. With Hundreds of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, this park has more biodiversity than most countries, including the entire United States! Not to mention the massive erupting Volcano! We hike through this paradise on one of the many trails that criss-cross the park. Your guide will point out and explain all of the natural phenomena you encounter.
day 17 - Frogs, Butterflies, Snakes... Oh my!!
- Today you get up close and personal with some of the most exotically beautiful and sometimes deadly creatures in the world. You’ll see stunningly colorful Poison Dart Frogs, Blue Morpho Butterflies emerging from their Chrysalis and Lizards and snakes that defy description. Bring an extra Memory stick for this one!!
day 18 - Shabbat

day 19 - Arenal Hanging Bridges
- Arenal Hanging Bridges is one the most beautiful environmental friendly projects in Costa Rica. Located in front of the Arenal Volcano, within the corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, the trails and bridges of this project will bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, the flowers and the lush vegetation of the primary rainforest. Walk right into the forest, thanks to the imposing hanging bridges overlooking the canopy and our easy, safe and beautiful trails with views of the Volcano.
day 20 - Wildlife Float Trip
- Today we start the day with a wildlife float trip on the Penas Blancas River. You’ll see hundreds tropical bird species, monkeys and sloth, reptiles of all sorts including caimans and huge iguanas, and tons of other exotic creatures.
day 21 - Cerro Chato Volcano Hike
- Today we’ll do an incredible hike up Cerro Chato Volcano. Cerro Chato is a now dormant Volcano overlooking the Active Arenal Volcano. The views of the exploding Arenal Crater form Cerro Chato are unparalleled and always unforgettable! You are see dozens of the exotic creatures the call this lush forest home.
day 22 - Venado Caves
- Today we start with a spelunking trip deep into the bowels of the volcano. You’ll see a beautiful assortment of stalactites and stalagmites and many exotic creatures that spend their entire lives down under!
day 23 - Manuel Antonio
- Today we rise early and start heading toward Manuel Antonio one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches. You’ll be basking under the tropical rays on the white sandy beach and swimming in the warm, crystal blue-green Pacific in no time at all. That evening, you can take a delightful walk along the beach and watch the sun as it slowly descends into the sea.
day 21 - Cerro Chato Volcano Hike
- Today we’ll do an incredible hike up Cerro Chato Volcano. Cerro Chato is a now dormant Volcano overlooking the Active Arenal Volcano. The views of the exploding Arenal Crater form Cerro Chato are unparalleled and always unforgettable! You are see dozens of the exotic creatures the call this lush forest home.
day 24 - Manuel Antonio National Park
- Today you can take a leisurely hike through one of Costa Rica’s most impressive National Parks. Manuel Antonio National Park is literally crawling with strange and exotic creatures. You’ll see dozens of monkeys, sloth, iguanas, and if you are really lucky maybe one of the stealthy jungle cats. After the hike the rest of the day is yours to enjoy the beach.
day 25 & 26 - Shabbat / 9 Av Fast Day

day 27 - Sea Kayaking & Snorkeling
- Today we’ll start the day with a sea kayaking trip along the beautiful pristine shoreline. You may see dolphins, sea turtles and if you’re very lucky maybe even a humpback whale. We’ll stop for a snack on one of the many deserted beaches accessible only by the sea. While there we’ll do some snorkeling and get up-close-and-personal with the incredibly beautiful tropical fishes that call this paradise home.
day 28 - Manuel Antonio
- Sleep late! After the last few days you’ve earned it! Soak up some rays, hit the waves, snorkel or choose from other fun activities.
day 29 - San Jose
- Sleep in, then enjoy a delicious breakfast on the beach. After breakfast there is a short drive back to San Jose. Once we arrive and check into our hotel we can explore the crazy downtown area and pick up some souvenirs.
day 30 - Adios!
- After breakfast, depart for the airport where you will return home with memories of a perfect tropical vacation.
